Inspired by a true event, this haunting drama was literally ripped from the pages of the daily newspapers by acclaimed indie director Nina Menkes, who found the story in the back pages of the Los Angeles Times. Two military police on routine patrol come upon a U.S. Marine-just back from combat in the Gulf War--digging a grave in the middle of the desert. Investigating further, they discover the bloodied corpse of the Marine's pregnant wife in the backseat of his car. As the MP's wait for the authorities to arrive, the impact and significance of the savage killing becomes apparent. Menkes's co-writer and sister, Tinka, portrays a Marine captain, with most of the other roles played by actual Desert Storm veterans. A hallucinatory nightmare, THE BLOODY CHILD is a provocative meditation on the nature of violence.
You should see it, make no mistake this is a definite blockbuster!
Wow! I really loved the movie The Bloody Child. The movie is absolutely stunning with top-notch graphics and visuals while Jack O'Hara deliver some award-winning performances in this movie.
I also think Sherry Sibley was great! The visuals and graphics make for some very realistic on screen special-effects but that is the beauty of the movie.When the movie wants to be funny it is funny, the same is true for when the movie needs to deliver its scary aspects.
I think Jack O'Hara and Sherry Sibley worked wonderful in The Bloody Child. The great supporting cast includes Jack O'Hara, Sherry Sibley, Tinka Menkes, Russ Little, Robert Muller (IV).

Not half-bad, this lightly engaging, potboiler romance concerns an ice skater (Lynn-Holly Johnson) who loses her vision in an accident but goes on to excel on the ice with the support of the guy (Robby Benson) who loves her. When she takes up with some rich schmuck, however, intertwining problems in her work and in love throw a shadow over everything. Nice performances, nice skating--the whole thing is a pleasant distraction. --Tom Keogh
If you love watching Robby Benson or Lynn-Holly Johnson, you are deffinetly going to want to watch Ice Castles.
